Jamie and Cersei Lannister are constantly revered as the most powerful and beautiful people in the entire Seven kingdoms. They are constantly surrounded by people that love and worship them. But it seems that the only thing they can think about is themselves. Guerrero (2011) found that "Narcissism is defined by having an exaggerated sense of self-importance and a focus on oneself at the sacrifice of others"(A1). They only seem to care about themselves and try very hard to show this to their followers. As Jeoffery is King, it is his responsibility to lead his people and do what is best for them. The only thing he is worried about is having the most power and increasing his stock value. If he were to be a little less narcissistic he would be able to gain the love of the people and create a powerful kingdom.
The Halo Effect:
Sannsa Stark is the premier bachelorette of the Seven Kingdoms, but the boy she has fallen for is a classic example of "The Halo Effect". Guerro (2011) says that "The Halo Effect leads people to believe that more physically attractive people are more likely to succeed, and are more sociable, popular, intelligent, and competent"(A2). When Sannsa first falls for Jeoffery she goes GAGA for his good looks and charm. She is sorely mistaken, she begins to see his evil and cruel ways. She transforms from being in love with him, to hating him. If she had not have fallen trap to the Halo Effect she would not have to deal with the monster that is Jeoffery every day.
